Kimberly and Robert

This past weekend I had the honor of photographing the beautiful wedding of Kimberly Season and Robert McMillan at the Columbus Museum of Art. For any of my blog followers out there, you know that this is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings. Kim and Robert were such a stunning, and sweet couple.

I was referred to Kimberly and Robert by a very good friend of mine, Kristin Martinez. She just so happens to be a wonderful realtor with Coldwell Banker King Thompson (614.804.8893) if you any of you are looking to sell/buy a place, give her a call! Kris has actually been patiently helping me look for a new "just right" studio space—I can't wait!

Ok, so on with the details of the big day! It started at Mario Tricoci salon at Easton with Kim and all ELEVEN of her beautiful bridesmaids—almost all of which flew in from out of state. Kim and Robert actually currently live in Texas, but will be moving to London in just a few short weeks after they return from their romantic honeymoon in Italy!

Gotta love Kim's bejeweled fuschia peep toed heels! I also loved the way Kim and her mother planned the details by pulling design inspiration from her bridal gown. Jan Kish (www.jankishlapetitefleur.com) was able to mimick the striped detailing from her dress and recreate it in the cake. Even the little flowers on the gown and in her veil, which resembled her bouquet of stephanotis, were created beautifully.

Here are the bride and her father enjoying a moment right before she's to walk down the aisle.

You may kiss the bride!

Here are a few shots from my portrait session with the bride and groom just after the ceremony. I had a very interesting lighting challenge before me with these—but with the right solution I think they turned out beautifully. All of these images were created using only the available low light inside the museum, with a little kick from a reflector. No flash or other artificial lighting is allowed in most areas of the CMA—and being that this was an all nighttime event, and very cold—there was no option to go outside for photographs. Nonetheless, I was thrilled with what we got.

And we certainly can't forget about the reception. Take a peek.

This is turning into the longest blog post ever, but I HAVE to make another special mention of the FABULOUS band — Soul Kitchn (www.soulkitchn.com). I HIGHLY recommend them for any wedding or event—they were simply wonderful and so talented. Robert actually got up at one point and sang a song to his new bride—and rocked it out!

Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Robert McMillan! Thanks so much for choosing me to be a part of your big day! I hope that you love your pictures!
